Warm Bodies, Warm Hearts is a group of committed individuals who see homelessness as an injustice and wish to help. According to the Toronto Disaster Relief Committee, the list of homeless individuals that are known to have died as a result of homelessness has grown to over 500. At night, in Toronto alone, there are approximately 5,000 sleeping homeless individuals, some of whom I have personally seen lying on sidewalks and street benches with only a garbage bag for shelter and warmth. Through the distribution of homemade scarves, mittens, hats and blankets, Warm Bodies, Warm Hearts aims to raise the spirits of homeless individuals. Our aim is not simply to keep the homeless warm while they are on the streets, but rather to fill their hearts with hope and determination.
