How You Can Make a Difference
- Assist with distribution: on December 9th a group of people will be travelling to Toronto
to distribute the items face to face to homeless individuals on the street – come
and join us.
- Donate new hats, mittens, scarves, blankets, socks, tooth brushes, tooth paste, non-perishable
ready to eat food items, juice boxes, water bottles,or anything else you feel that a homeless
individual would like to receive.
- Knit, crochet or sew hats, mittens, scarves, 8" by 8" squares that will be
used to make blankets or any other item you feel would keep someone warm on a cold night.
- Contribute yarn: any amount is greatly appreciated – smaller samples of yarn can
be used to knit squares for blankets. Zellers, Wallmart, and S&R carry a large
selection of yarn at a very reasonable rate.
- Sew blankets: we have fabric samples for you
- Recruit people: invite everyone and anyone to either join the facebook group or
view the site – you never know which of your friends might be a closet knitter.
- Distribute items in your own community: just send me an e-mail to let me know what
you have made and in which city you will be distributing, so I can document it and
count the items towards our goal.
- If you are a lawyer or know one who would be willing to volunteer their time to help us
to become a registered charity, please contact me.
- Come to the Second Annual Knit-a-Thon in the fall of 2008 - location, date and time TBA
Please contact me if you would like to assist in any way.
